MEMFix is a community-led revitalization effort in Memphis, Tennessee.
It is a temporary showcase of what a dynamic, walkable neighborhood could look like with pop-up shops, activated storefronts, vibrant public spaces, bicycle and pedestrian-friendly streets, and engaging activities for visitors.
MEMFix demonstrates the βart of the possibleβ by temporarily transforming designated city blocks. The neighborhoods being transformed for the 2023 project include: Alcy Ball, Frayser, Whitehaven, The Heights, Orange Mound, Klondike Smokey City, and South City.

The two most important factors for understanding if your neighborhood is ready for a MEMFix project are:
- Community leaders and participants whole have a shared vision and desire for change
- Clear potential for the neighborhood to become a vibrant public space

Shop local! Many businesses have the products and services you need right in your own neighborhood. BLDG Memphis recently helped more than 1,150 small businesses across seven neighborhoods receive the resources they need to directly enhance their economic and business development capabilities and dedicated more than $140,000 to retail activation and pop-up shops. For more information on where small businesses are in your neighborhood, visit your local CDC and check out their business directory! #bldgbetterneighborhoods #shoplocal #memphis
